Fed up of your daily commute? Want to ditch your corporate job and become a successful coach?

Ready for more time, freedom and being your own boss?

You will want to read on then because this blog will guide you through my 5 simple steps to successfully making this transition – and never looking back!

Step No. 1 – Get Clear On Your Coaching Business

Whilst you still have the security of your monthly paycheque you can use your free time to get clear on exactly what you want your coaching business to be and do.

The first step is to know what your purpose is and identify the key problem you want to help your high paying clients solve.

Once you know what your purpose and specialism is, you can start to plan out your coaching program that you will be offering.

It is important that at this early stage you spend time thinking about what your goals are for your business and your life.

It can help to ask yourself:

What are you wanting your business to look and feel like?

What would you love your life to look and feel like?

What are your financial goals for your business? Client goals? Marketing goals?

How much time do you want to spend working? How much time do you want to spend playing?

Step No. 2 – Surround Yourself With Self-Employed People

One of the things that tends to hold people back from leaving their corporate jobs is that their friends and family can lack knowledge of being self-employed and can be hugely resistant to their making the transition.

If you don’t know anyone who is self-employed then the negativity of those nearest and dearest can make it all too easy to let your fears stop you from moving towards your dreams of being self-employed.

It makes sense to counteract this negativity, by surrounding yourself with people who have already made the transition you want to make, i.e. successful self-employed people!

These self-employed folks will be able to give you unbiased and knowledgeable suggestions that could help you with making your business visions and ambitions a reality.

To get to meet successful self-employed folks all you need to do is take yourself along to one of the local networking events in your area or join a meetup group for entrepreneurs.

Step No. 3 – Address Your Fears and Blocks

Your inner world may well be your biggest block to becoming self-employed. Even though you could be dreading going to work, that may feel less scary than going out on your own.

I can’t tell you how many people have said to me that they have wanted to be self-employed for over ten years but have been too afraid to make it happen. This is such a waste.

If this is you then just think how many people have you robbed of your help. How many people could you have helped with their talents in the past 2, 5 or even 10 years. More importantly you have robbed yourself of your dreams.

Listen up because I have something important to tell you, Not realising your dreams is far worse than trying to make your dreams a reality and failing.

If you relate to this make sure you get yourself some support from a Coach to help you through your fears and blocks, so you don’t let your dreams pass you by.

Step No. 4 – Make Space For Your Business

Right now you are caught in a common trap – too busy in your current job to be able to work on your new business and get it launched.

Quitting your job entirely can simply put you into a stressful situation with money. The best way to make space for your business is to cut down your existing job by a day or two per week. This way you still have the security of the regular income whilst you are setting up your business, but you also have time to get your business up and running.

You can explore the possibility of you cutting down your hours with your employer to see if this is possible. If not then you have the option to look for a part-time job or a job-share opportunity that will allow you to be able to set up your business alongside some PAYE work.

This will make transitioning across to being a self-employed Coach way less stressful and financially challenging because you will have a stable income to cover your bills and time to get your business off the ground.

Step No. 5 – Get Support With Launching Your Business

Nowadays there are many fantastic online coaching programmes which you can take from the comfort of your own home so you can learn the business and marketing skills you need to successfully launch your business.

My Client Attraction Academy is the perfect online group programme for Coaches and Consultants who want to launch their Coaching Business. On this three-month programme you will learn how to identify your niche, create your branding and coaching programme, market, launch and even sell your coaching programmes to your ideal clients.

This programme is so amazing that many budding Coaches on this programme gain clients before they have completed the whole 12 weeks of this programme!

Hopefully you can now see that there is a clear pathway you can follow to make the transition from your corporate job to being your own boss.

So, there is no excuse for not living your dreams!
