My biggest learning from the last few months has been to believe in my vision for my business wholeheartedly and hold onto it even more strongly when things don’t go as planned.
It’s funny because even after 16 years being self-employed and three businesses, I still feel like a kid learning what it really means to be an entrepreneur.
The reality is that when you keep stretching yourself to achieve your business visions (like I do) you never stop learning.
Whatever stage you are at with your business, whether you are starting out or are a seasoned entrepreneur, believing in your visions for your business wholeheartedly is essential if you want to make your visions a reality.
Back in February when I decided to host my 3-day virtual event Accelerate Your Impact & Income to launch my Accelerate Mastermind program, I had no idea what was going to happen with the event or the launch of my new program. There were a lot of unknowns; I hadn’t hosted a virtual 3-day event like Accelerate Your Impact & Income before, I had updated my mastermind program significantly since the last time I ran it in 2018 and I didn’t know if my audience who were coming to me for help with Linkedin would want the deeper support my Accelerate Mastermind offers with growing their business to six figures, not to mention whether they would be open to the price point for this program.
The safer option would have been to carry on launching my Linkedin Quality Leads Formula and keep building up my clients for that program using the tried and tested launch formula that I already had working really well and making six figures each time I launched. Yet, I knew I had to launch the Accelerate Mastermind. There was a voice inside me that had been telling me for a few months that it was time for me to share my gifts beyond Linkedin and help my clients grow their businesses to six figures and beyond. It was a voice I couldn’t ignore…because that voice believed I am here for more, here to help my clients have even bigger transformations, and that’s what my heart wanted too.
I’d love to be able to say everything went to plan in the run-up to my 3-day event week before last, but that would be lying. There were lots of things that I and my team did that seemed like great ideas to us but didn’t really work as expected or at all.
For instance, having four ticket levels overcomplicated things and just two or even one ticket level would be much simpler. And I discovered that using Facebook Ads to bring cold traffic to purchase tickets for this event was not viable financially.
It was when things didn’t work that I found it was most important for me to hold onto my belief in my vision for this 3-day event, my new Accelerate Mastermind program, and my business as a whole. At those times that I meditated more on my vision for my business and was reminded through these meditations of the fact that I create my reality (not anyone or anything else). By keeping my eyes firmly on the reality I wanted to create, I and my team navigated the things that didn’t go well and found other ways to create the outcomes we wanted. For instance, realising that we weren’t able to get “cold” traffic to the event we went all out to make sure our existing and past clients were present. This included offering all my existing and past clients complimentary tickets to this 3-day event.
In fact, many who were offered a complimentary ticket then purchased one of the higher ticket levels so they could receive the additional benefits that came with that ticket level.
There were 112 entrepreneurs who bought or claimed complimentary tickets to Accelerate Your Impact & Income and we raised $1500 in ticket sales. Which is going to be donated to charities involved in getting food to those families who live in food poverty.
The event itself was absolutely incredible, there was a lot of learning, a lot of dancing, and a lot of massive breakthroughs for participants both during the event (and afterward with many picking up clients!).
