If you want to be successful in business nowadays it is a given that you will need to have an active Social Media Presence. That said many business owners don’t have a social media presence because they feel out of their depth with this technology. Or they dip their toes in and get completely overwhelmed.
With this article, I am hoping to show you that social media does not have to be a three-headed monster. You will also learn why having a social media presence can quickly turn into new customers and profit!
So, let’s assume that we are starting from an unbiased place wanting to evaluate whether your business needs to be active on social media or not. Then the first question to ask yourself is, “Does your business have customers who are on social media?”.
If your answer is “Yes” then you need an active presence on social media. Why? Because an active social media presence gives you the opportunity to form relationships with your customers even before they make direct contact with you.
Because you can build your brand awareness amongst your ideal clients faster and much more cheaply than you can using the older traditional marketing methods such as direct marketing.
And because a favourable social media presence hugely increases the conversion rate of prospects into customers. Ignoring social media is a bit like a fisherman ignoring the ocean as a place to go fishing!

Facebook is a good platform for Coaches to have a Social Media Presence on
A lot of business owners say to me that they are not sure that their customers are on Facebook. My response is that given Facebook has 1.94 billion users, that’s nearly 28% of the total world population. We can safely say that your customers are on Facebook!
In my opinion, if you are at the stage of choosing which platform to start establishing a presence on then I would look at Facebook first.

How could having a Social Media Presence on Facebook benefit you?
If you are wondering whether this will work to just begin with one platform, well, I started my business two and half years ago and have focused my attention on being active on just one platform – Facebook.
I focus all my marketing activities to generate new leads and new customers using Facebook Marketing. Facebook still brings me over 80% of my clients. The remaining customers coming through referrals from existing and past clients of mine.
There is no way I would have been able to grow my business to over half million in sales in just two and half years without having a social media presence on Facebook.
So, the Real Question to ask yourself is, “How can I use Facebook to engage with my ideal clients and generate more customers and profits?”.
