One of hottest services you can sell right now is “information”. In particular, I mean information products such as online courses and membership sites.
The reason there is such huge growth in this market is that technology has advanced to the point where it is relatively easy for sole-traders such as Coaches, Consultants and Therapists to leverage their expertise, launch and sell an online course or membership site.
From the consumer side, online courses provide convenience, ease of access and valuable information that is not always available from the traditional educational institutions.
The reason why many individuals choose to launch an online course is it provides a solution to the problem of being stuck trading time for money. Many successful Coaches, Consultants and
Therapists find themselves in the predicament where the problem isn’t that they haven’t enough clients, the problem is that they don’t have enough time to take on more clients and they are still not making the income they would like to be.
The clear route through this difficulty is to develop an online course which will enable them to get their work out to an international audience, and make a passive income (whilst they sleep!). An added bonus of taking your work online is the freedom to travel and flexibility to work when and where you want.
The reality is though that when people start investigating how to launch their online course, they find they are stunned by a dizzying array of expert advice and technology to choose from, which can quite frankly leave any normal person perplexed and more confused.
I’m lucky enough to know exactly how to launch and sell online courses and have launched three very successful online programmes in the past year. My business, Client Nectar, has helped me reach an international audience and make the transition from trading time for money to generating a passive income.
But it wasn’t always this way, when I launched my first online membership site, Talking Therapy, it took me and my husband three years to create the website and when it was finally launched I struggled to make it profitable.

I went round and round in circles trying to make it work, and whilst it provided an excellent service to the therapist members gaining client referrals for them, for me personally it proved to be a time consuming and costly mistake.
Ultimately though, this mistake is one I’m very grateful for, because it was through this experience that I realized that to change my business fortunes I needed to launch an online course and reach an international audience with my work.
Launching Client Nectar, has happily been an altogether more profitable and less painful experience, with my first online course being birthed in just eight weeks!
Since then I’ve gone on to launch a 1:1 business coaching programme and a programme where I teach others how to launch and sell their online courses, using my unique launch process that means they can get launched in just ninety days.
The reason I took to writing programmes, like a “duck to water”, is that for years I worked as a Course Director of a University Marketing Degree Programme. Writing and delivering courses that supported students to fulfil their potential was my day job, day in and day out for seven years.
During this time, I honed my skills and developed a gift with creating courses that support course participants to achieve their life and business goals.
I know what it is like to struggle not knowing how to get your online course off the ground and I don’t want you to go through the same pain…
